M&G Corporate Bond Fund

The fund aims to provide income and capital growth by investing at least 70% of the portfolio in sterling-denominated bonds issued by companies. The fund also invests in government bonds (usually of developed countries) and high yield bonds. Exposure to these assets is gained through physical holdings and the use of derivatives. The fund manager is assisted by an in-house team of independent credit analysts in the selection of individual bond issues.

UK Income Distribution Fund

The fund seeks to provide a high and rising income as well as capital growth through a portfolio that is at least 70% invested in UK company shares. It may also invest in high-quality, sterling-denominated bonds. The target yield (the fund’s annual income distribution as a percentage of the share price) is to be above that of the FTSE All-Share Index. The level of income provided may also fluctuate over time. The fund has a bias towards the higher yielding sectors of the market, but it aims to have a broadly diversified portfolio within these yield constraints.

M&G Optimal Income Fund

The fund aims to deliver income and capital growth by investing in a broad range of fixed income securities, wherever the manager sees the greatest opportunities. The manager may also hold up to 20% of the portfolio in company shares when he believes they offer better value than bonds. Exposure to these assets is gained through physical holdings and the use of derivatives. An in-house team of independent credit analysts assists the fund manager in the selection of individual bond issues.

These funds are designed to offer the prospect of a regular and growing distribution through investment in company shares or a range of income-paying assets.


M&G Dividend Fund

The fund aims to deliver growing income distributions by investing at least 70% of the fund in a range of UK company shares. It aims to provide a dividend yield (annual income distributed as a percentage of the share price) above that of the FTSE All-Share Index. Subject to this, the fund aims to deliver capital growth. To achieve the objective, the fund manager invests in the shares of UK companies with the potential to grow their dividends over the long term. He employs a bottom-up stock selection process that looks closely at company fundamentals and may invest across a wide range of sectors and company sizes. The fund manager is also able to select stocks with different drivers of dividend growth to construct a fund that has the potential to cope in a variety of market conditions.

M&G Episode Income Fund

The fund has two aims: to generate a growing level of income over any three-year period by investing in a mix of assets from anywhere in the world; and to provide capital growth of 2-4% on average each year over any three-year period. There is no guarantee that the fund will achieve its objective over this, or any other, period. The fund invests in a range of income-generating assets from around the world, including company shares, bonds, currencies and property (only through other funds). Exposure to these assets is gained through physical holdings and the use of derivatives. M&G Global Dividend Fund

The fund has three aims: to increase the income stream every year; to provide a dividend yield above that available from the MSCI All Countries World Index over any five-year period; and to provide combined income and capital growth that is higher than that of the index over any five-year period. At least 70% of the fund is invested in the shares of companies from anywhere in the world. The fund manager focuses on companies with the potential to grow their dividends over the long term and invests across a wide range of countries, sectors and company sizes. The fund manager selects stocks with different sources of dividend growth to build a fund that has the potential to cope in a variety of market conditions.

These funds are designed to offer the prospect of capital growth through investment in company shares or a range of different assets.


M&G Episode Allocation Fund

The fund targets combined income and capital growth of at least 5% a year above the three-month GBP LIBOR, before any charges are taken, over any five-year period. LIBOR is the rate at which banks borrow money from each other. The fund has a very flexible investment approach, with the freedom to invest in different types of assets. The approach combines in-depth research to determine the value of assets over the medium to long term, with analysis of investors’ emotional reaction to events to identify investment opportunities. The fund gains access to assets directly and indirectly through derivatives.

M&G Global Select Fund

The fund aims to deliver capital growth and income by investing at least 80% of the portfolio in a range of company shares from across the world. The fund is a concentrated portfolio of between 30 and 40 holdings. Stocks are selected based on their individual merits, with a focus on quality, sustainable businesses where an element of change is helping to drive their value. Crucially, the fund manager will purchase shares in a company when short-term issues have provided a clear valuation opportunity, with a view to holding those shares for at least five years. Sustainability considerations, including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors, are fully integrated into the investment process.

M&G Managed Growth Fund

The fund aims to deliver combined income and capital growth, net of the Ongoing Charge Figure, that is higher than that of an index made up of 85% global company shares (as measured by the MSCI ACWI Index) and 15% global bonds (as measured by the Bloomberg Barclays Global Aggregate Index) over any five-year period. At least 70% of the fund is invested in other funds to give exposure to a range of assets from anywhere in the world. The fund may also invest directly in these assets and use derivatives. In aggregate, at least 70% of the fund’s assets will be invested in company shares, either directly or via other funds. The fund has a flexible investment approach which combines in-depth research to determine the value of assets over the medium to long term, with analysis of investors’ emotional reaction to events to identify investment opportunities.

These funds are designed to offer the prospect of higher capital growth, but potentially greater fluctuations in returns over time. These funds typically have exposure to emerging markets or companies that may be out of favour but offer the possibility of high returns on successful turnaround strategies.


M&G Global Themes Fund

The fund aims to deliver higher capital growth and income than that of the MSCI All Country World Index over any five-year period. It does this by investing at least 80% of the fund in the shares of companies the fund manager believes are positioned to benefit from structural trends in the global economy. These can be in any sector and of any market capitalisation that are domiciled in any country, including emerging markets.

M&G Global Emerging Markets Fund

The fund aims to deliver income and capital growth over the long term (five years of more) by investing at least 70% of the fund in shares of companies from across the emerging markets. It can also invest in companies that conduct the majority of their business activities in such countries. Investments are chosen based purely on a company’s individual merits. The fund manager focuses on firms that are run for the benefit of their shareholders and whose future profitability, in his opinion, is not fully appreciated by other investors. He has an investment horizon of three to five years and selects stocks with different drivers of profitability to construct a diversified portfolio that has the potential to cope in a variety of market conditions.

M&G Recovery Fund

The fund invests at least 80% of the portfolio in companies that are out of favour with the stockmarket where the fund manager believes a good management team is making concerted efforts to turn the business around. The fund’s sole aim is to achieve capital growth. The fund manager takes a long-term view with a typical holding period of five years or more. Developing a constructive dialogue with company management is a fundamental part of the investment process.
